Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ('Ootchamin 'Ooyakma) is a 1,193-acre living laboratory and outdoor classroom in the eastern foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, home to globally significant biodiversity. The preserve provides a foundation for understanding natural systems through experiential education and multidisciplinary research.

Dr. Jorge Ramos is the Executive Director of Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ('Ootchamin 'Ooyakma), overseeing research, education, and stewardship. After earning his PhD focused on carbon cycling in wetland ecosystems, he worked at Conservation International, advancing community-based carbon projects with multiple conservation co-benefits globally.
