The Rotary Club of Menlo Park's Gift Committee has approximately $20,000.00 in grant money for local nonprofit groups that want to raise public awareness about a compelling community need, and has a proposal for a specific project to alleviate the problem. The Gift Committee awards range from approximately $300.00-$3000.00.
Organizations serving Menlo Park, Atherton, Redwood City, Palo Alto, and East Palo Alto are eligible for the grant. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 30, 2011. Please use the attached Gift Committee Request, which includes deadlines and submittal procedures, as well as information to be included in your proposal.
The Rotary Club of Menlo Park supports local projects focusing on young people, literacy, and rehabilitation for veterans. Yearly the Club awards approximately $100,000.00 in need-based scholarships for local high school students. Annually, the Club's Gift Committee provides approximately $20,000.00 in grants to local nonprofit groups. Menlo Park Rotary is also the lead club for a $300,000.00 Rotary International grant for work on clean water, clean air, literacy, micro-lending, and women's health in Guatemala.
